A teaching portfolio separated by classes or workshops that I have taught since 2010 in Pittsburgh, PA.
Media includes drawing, collage, conceptual art, performance, installation, video and sculpture.
The classes include children, teens, college and adult students at public and private institutions throughout the city.  The emphasis when I teach is to create an open space for creativity and playfulness that is anchored in some over-arching concept or aim.  Whether this is to create tools that can make marks, or working collaboratively on an encyclopedia, or following a semester of assignments that push the artist to new places and understandings.  Ideas are given time, consideration, and respect through an intuitive and experimental approach to material and process.  It is a place where the plan should only be to follow curiosity, experience wonder, and make work by examining the parts of yourself and the world around you that you typically cannot see.
